Race, Brawl, Fly or Team Up: 33 Two-Player Games Sorted by What You Do

The two-player, one-keyboard guide sorts games by how the keys split. This guide covers thirty-three other games from the two-player section and asks a different question: what are the two of you actually doing? Six are races, seven are duels and brawls, four are tank or helicopter battles, three are cooperative platformers, five are quick tug-and-tap contests, four are mini-game packs, and four are scoring games.

Each table gives the keys from the developer's listing, the player modes the developer states, and what the developer says the game is about. Our game pages were matched against each listing by distribution ID, the 32-character code the game is served from, not by title. Where our page says more than the listing, this guide follows the developer and says so. Where a listing does not say which keys belong to which player, the table says that rather than guessing.

1. Racing each other: cars, worms and runners

Three car games with full key sets and nitro, and three races on foot, one of them for worms.

Nightmare RunnersSolo: W A S D or arrows, Space jump. Two: P1 W A S D, G jump; P2 arrows, L jump1 player vs online or bot opponents, or 2 PlayerA night-time knockout race with traps and monsters; avoid elimination; coins unlock skins
Hexa TwoArrows and W A S D run, Space and Q jump; not assigned to playersSolo online, or 2 players split screenKeep running on hexagons that fall once touched

Two Punk Racing 2 and Cyber City Driver share an identical layout, so learning one teaches the other. Both put Player 1 on the arrows and Player 2 on W A S D, the reverse of most games here. The difference is the goal: rewards and a garage in Two Punk Racing 2, six timed routes in Cyber City Driver. 3D Formula Racing: Pro Edition is the car game where the developer spells out split-screen for the second player.

Wiggly Worm Race is the only game in this guide that seats four on one keyboard. Our page says you must alternate your two keys; the developer says only to tap as fast as you can, so that rule is not stated here as fact. Nightmare Runners moves the jump key with the mode: Space alone, G and L for two. Hexa Two is a survival round on a collapsing floor; our page gives Player 1 the arrows and Space, but the developer does not say who gets which set.

2. Duels and brawls

Seven head-to-head fights. In some you beat the other player directly; in others you win by position, pushing someone off a ledge or holding a spot.

GameKeys the developer listsPlayers (per the developer)What you do (per the developer)
Duel of BuildersP1: W A S D, R change weapon, Space attack. P2: arrows, O change weapon, P attackA friend or the computerA dueling game; the listing says little more
Ragdoll GangsP1: W A S D, C pick / throw, V punch, B kick, Left Shift run. P2: arrows, I, O, P, Right Shift. L cursor lock, P pauseAdventure Mode single only; Arena Mode single or two playerSix Adventure levels; in Arena the first to score three wins
Gang Fall PartyP1: W A S D, C run, V punch. P2: arrows, O run, P punch1vs1; Vs All with online opponents; 1P onlinePunch opponents off high places; 16 or 17 players per online game
Truck SlamP1: A and D move, W jump, S swing. P2: arrows and Enter. Touch buttons on mobile1 or 2 players on one deviceRam, slam or swing to knock trucks off the platform; upgrade stats after wins
Battle Tung Tung Sahur 2 PlayerW A S D, S hits with the stick. Arrows, Down arrow hitsTagged 1 Player and 2 PlayerHit your opponent; stay near the chest for 20 seconds to win
Neon Slimes"Keyboard, Mouse"; no keys namedTagged 2 PlayerJump on your opponent's head to shrink them and make them fall; double jump
Ragdoll Duel 2PP1: W. P2: Up arrow. Mouse in 1 Player1 or 2 playersTime your shots to shoot down your opponent; 1 Player coins upgrade health and weapon

For a straight fight, Ragdoll Gangs has the most keys in this guide, five actions per player, and the only solo Adventure Mode. Note that P is both Player 2's kick and the pause key in the developer's list. Duel of Builders is simpler, and Ragdoll Duel 2P is simplest: one key each and a timed shot.

Gang Fall Party and Truck Slam are ledge games where position beats damage. Our Gang Fall Party page adds that punches knock rivals backwards, which the developer does not say; our Truck Slam page calls Enter the swing, but the listing gives only "arrows Enter". Battle Tung Tung Sahur 2 Player is king of the hill: hits matter because they move the other player off the chest. Our page calls the 20 seconds accumulated; the developer does not specify. Neon Slimes is a stomp game, but its listing names no keys, so this guide cannot say which ones it uses.

3. Tank and helicopter battles

Two tank duels with full movement, and two helicopter games played on W and the Up arrow.

GameKeys the developer listsPlayers (per the developer)What you do (per the developer)
TankBattle 2 PlayerBlue: W A S D, Q fire. Brown: arrows, P fireYou against a friendOutmaneuver and destroy the enemy tank first
Tank War Ice AgeP1: W A S D, Space. P2: arrows, EnterAgainst a friendSet a round limit, then fight; the developer warns bombs are very powerful
HelifightW and Up arrow; touch on mobileBlue and red helicopters, you and a friendCollect the rocket symbol, hit the other helicopter; five hits wins
Flappy Helicopter 2 PlayerRed: W. Blue: Up arrowTwo playersWhoever explodes 10 times loses; hitting the ground or sky counts

TankBattle 2 Player keeps both fire keys on letters, Q and P. Tank War Ice Age uses Space and Enter, without naming their action (our page calls them fire), and lets you set the match length first. In Helifight you must reach the rocket symbol before you can shoot. In Flappy Helicopter 2 Player the screen edges are as dangerous as the other pilot. Our page says its helicopters fire on their own; the developer mentions bullets but not how firing works.

4. Working together: co-op platformers

Three games where you are on the same side, with a shared exit or finish line.

GameKeys the developer listsPlayers (per the developer)What you do (per the developer)
Prison TwinsW A S D and arrows to move; double jump enabledTagged 2 PlayerPress buttons that move platforms, find three golden keys, escape together; the fat brother breaks doors, the thin one fits narrow gaps
Black and White StickmanW and Up arrow jump; desktop and mobileTagged 2 PlayerCollect every star and monster ball, then reach the portal; touching an obstacle fails
Obby Rainbow Parkour: Two PlayerP1: W A S D, Space jump, Shift sprint, Q shove. P2: arrows, L jump, Shift sprint; shove key blankAlone or with a friendClear rainbow obstacle courses and reach every finish line

Prison Twins needs both players most, since each brother has an ability the other lacks. Our page says one person can steer both; the developer does not mention that. Black and White Stickman has just a jump key each; the developer does not say which stickman is on W, though our page puts the black one there. In Obby Rainbow Parkour: Two Player the developer's text leaves Player 2's shove key blank.

5. Tug, thumbs, bombs and rock-paper-scissors

Five quick contests. Three use one key per player; Roshambo uses three, and DUO SummerBombs is about movement.

GameKeys the developer listsPlayers (per the developer)What you do (per the developer)
Pixel PullingRed: W. Blue: Up arrow. Touch buttonsRed and blueRope pulling over five rounds
Table Tug OnlineSpacebar or tapLocal two player, or onlineTug your opponent across the line
Extreme Thumb WarsW and Up arrow, or touchA friend or the CPUOver twenty thumb characters; smash until your power bar runs out
RoshamboA S D and J K L, or touchA friend or the computerRock paper scissors; first to 3 wins
DUO SummerBombsW A S D and arrows to moveTwo playersWhoever holds the bomb when the timer ends loses

Pixel Pulling gives each side its own key. Table Tug Online lists only the spacebar, without explaining how two people share it locally, and adds an online mode. Extreme Thumb Wars limits mashing with a power bar. Roshambo involves no speed at all; the developer does not say which key is rock, paper or scissors. DUO SummerBombs is tag with a bomb; our page says you pass it by touching your opponent, which the listing does not spell out.

6. Mini-game packs

Four games that each hold many smaller ones, the most variety per game in this guide.

GameKeys the developer listsPlayers (per the developer)What you do (per the developer)
SuperBattleP1: W A S D. P2: arrowsSolo or with a friend51 mini-games: football, racing, boxing, tennis, pong, tanks, battleships and more
Mini Duels BattleP1: Up arrow. P2: W2 player or single player16 games, including Drunken Duel, Drunken Boxing, wrestling and table games; first to five
Ragdoll Arena 2 PlayerP1: W A S D, G jump / shoot. P2: arrows, P jump / shoot1 or 2 players14 games such as fruit slicing and chicken catching; score three first; costumes from coins
Glowit: Two PlayersDrag with the left mouse buttonTwo players, turn-based12 mini-games, a random one each round, with instructions

SuperBattle has the most by far; its developer listing calls it SuperBattle 2. Mini Duels Battle reverses the usual sides, with Player 1 on the Up arrow. Ragdoll Arena 2 Player keeps a first-to-three rule throughout. Glowit: Two Players is the mouse option: you take turns, and neither of you knows which game comes next.

7. Scoring games: foosball, car soccer, squares and holes

Four games won on points or size rather than knockouts.

GameKeys the developer listsPlayers (per the developer)What you do (per the developer)
Foosball FunnyP1: W and S. P2: Up and DownTagged 2 PlayerFoosball; no rules described
Rocketcar CupW A S D and arrows drive, Shift boost, Q hard hit; touch joystick and buttons. Not split by playerOne-on-one or team matches2D soccer with rocket cars: boost, jump, flip, score, defend
Hole Upper For 2 PlayersP1: W A S D or joystick. P2: arrows or joystickLocal split screenSwallow blocks, grow, out-eat your opponent before time runs out
Four Square IIClick empty spaces to place gemsTagged 2 Player and MultiplayerMake squares of four in your color for points while blocking your opponent

Foosball Funny is two keys each, up and down, with the thinnest description in this guide. Rocketcar Cup lists one boost and one hard-hit key without saying how two players share them. Hole Upper For 2 Players is the cleanest split: one movement set each and a timer. Four Square II, which its developer compares to tic-tac-toe, calls the other side "the adversary" without saying whether that is a person or the computer.

How to pick

How this page was put together

This page does not rank the games, and none of it comes from playing them. It lines up facts already on the game pages after they were checked against each developer listing by distribution ID. Where our page says more than the listing, as with the key split in Hexa Two or the Enter key in Truck Slam, this guide follows the listing and says so. Each embed was re-checked from a US server on the date shown at the top.
