About Four Square II
Four Square takes the tic-tac-toe idea and raises the bar: instead of a line of three, you need four blocks of your colour arranged as a square, and each completed square scores points. Because squares can be built anywhere on the board, the space stays open far longer than in tic-tac-toe and both players are usually one move from scoring.
The result is a game where every placement does two jobs — building toward your own square while denying your opponent theirs. It is silent, mouse-only and quick, which puts it alongside Checkers as a thinking game for a shared screen.
How to play
Click an empty space to place a gem in your colour. Build four of your gems into a square to score — the points depend on the square you complete. Watch what your opponent is building at the same time, because the best placements block their square and advance yours in one move.
Controls
- Mouse click — place a gem in an empty space
- Two players taking turns on one screen
Tips to win
- Every move should do two jobs. A placement that only builds is usually a placement that loses.
- Count your opponent’s near-squares before your own; a block is worth as much as a score.
- Corners are underrated — squares built there are the hardest for the other player to see coming.
