TankBattle 2 Player is the tank duel stripped to its minimum: two tanks, one arena and a friend on the other side of the keyboard. The player who manoeuvres fastest and gets the first telling shot away destroys the other tank, so every round comes down to positioning and timing.

Rounds are short and rematches are instant, which suits a keyboard shared between two people. If you want the longer arena version with more room to manoeuvre, Tank War Two Player plays the same idea at a bigger scale.

How to play

The blue tank moves with the WASD keys and fires with Q. The brown tank moves with the arrow keys and fires with P. Both players use the same keyboard. Out-manoeuvre your opponent and destroy their tank before they destroy yours, so line up each shot before you commit to it.

Know your keys before the first round starts. The blue tank moves with WASD and fires with Q; the brown tank moves with the arrow keys and fires with P. Both players share one keyboard, so agree on sides before you start. Most early rounds are lost to a player pressing the wrong fire key or steering the wrong way under pressure.

Line up the shot before you commit to it. Shots travel in the direction your tank is pointing, so firing without lining up usually wastes the shot and gives your opponent a free moment. Take a fraction of a second to turn toward your target and then fire. Spraying shots in the rough direction feels busy but rarely lands.

Movement wins the duel as much as shooting does. The player who manoeuvres faster and better tends to win. Keep moving rather than parking in one spot, because a stationary tank is the easiest target on the screen. Changing direction just as your opponent turns to face you makes their aim much harder.

Use cover and angles. If the arena gives you anything to hide behind, use it. Approach your rival from an angle they are not facing, and make them turn to find you. Poking out, firing, and moving back is safer than driving straight across open ground toward a tank that is already aimed at you.

Change your plan each round. Rounds are short and rematches come quickly, so both players learn each other's habits fast. If you opened by charging last time, try waiting this time. Varying where you go first and when you shoot keeps your opponent guessing, and it is the simplest way to turn a losing streak around against the same friend.
