About Black and White Stickman
Black and White Stickman is a cooperative puzzle-platformer for two: a black stickman and a white one, both of whom need to reach the portal at the end of the level. Before that can happen you have to collect all of the star points and all of the monster balls scattered around the stage — leaving one behind means the portal stays shut.
The obstacles are unforgiving; touching one loses the level outright rather than costing a life, so this is a game about looking at a jump before making it. Two players on one keyboard is how it is meant to be played, with one of you on each stickman.
How to play
One player jumps with W, the other jumps with the up arrow, so both stickmen can be controlled from the same keyboard. Collect every star and every monster ball on the level — both are required — and then guide both characters to the portal. Do not touch the obstacles; a single collision fails the level.
Controls
- Black stickman — W to jump
- White stickman — Up arrow to jump
- Works on desktop and mobile
Tips to win
- Sweep the level for monster balls first — they are easier to miss than the stars.
- Move one stickman at a time on tight sections; trying to run both at once is how collisions happen.
- When a jump looks marginal, reposition instead of committing — there is no partial failure here.
Black and White Stickman strategy guide
One key each. One player jumps with W, the other with the Up arrow, so both stickmen are controlled from the same keyboard. It works on desktop and mobile. A single key per character is what makes the co-operative puzzle readable — neither of you has to think about how to move, only about when.
Collect everything, then leave. The portal at the end of the level does not open until you have gathered all of the star points and all of the monster balls on the stage. Missing a single one means the exit stays shut, so a level is not a race to the portal — it is a sweep of the whole stage followed by a short trip to the portal.
Sweep for monster balls first. Stars are conspicuous and monster balls are easier to overlook, which means the item that strands you at a closed portal is almost always a monster ball. Doing that pass first, while you still have patience and before the level has beaten you a few times, saves the frustrating walk back.
There is no partial failure. Touching an obstacle loses the level outright rather than costing a life, which completely changes how a marginal jump should be treated. If a jump looks like it might just barely work, do not take it — reposition and take an easier one. The time cost of repositioning is always smaller than restarting.
Move one stickman at a time. On tight sections, trying to run both characters simultaneously is how collisions happen, because your attention is genuinely split between two fragile objects. Park one somewhere safe, move the other into position, then swap. It is slower per section and much faster per level.
Black and White Stickman FAQ
Why will the portal not open?
Because something is still uncollected. You need every star point and every monster ball on the level before the portal opens.
What happens if you touch an obstacle?
You lose the level outright — there are no lives, so a marginal jump is never worth taking.
Is Black and White Stickman a 2 player game?
It is designed for two on one keyboard, one player per stickman, though one person can control both.
