About Worm Path

Worm Path is a tile-based logic puzzle. You guide a worm through a maze toward the exit, moving one tile at a time, pushing blocks out of the way and working around obstacles that will happily leave you stuck with nowhere legal to go.

Each level introduces a new layout and a little more difficulty, and the puzzles are genuinely puzzles — the kind you solve by looking before you move rather than by reacting quickly. It is completely silent and needs nothing but the keyboard, which makes it a good quiet option between the noisier games on the site.

How to play

Move the worm one tile at a time with the arrow keys or W, A, S and D. Walk into a block to push it, provided the tile beyond it is clear. The goal on every level is the exit, but the real constraint is not painting yourself into a corner — plan the whole route before you commit to the first few moves.

Worm Path strategy guide

Solve it backwards. The most useful habit in Worm Path is to look at the exit before you look at the worm. Ask which tile you have to be standing on to make the final move, then which tile before that, and keep working back until the chain reaches your starting position. Forward exploration gets you a few moves in and then stuck; backward planning tells you immediately which blocks matter and which are scenery.

Every push is permanent. You can push a block but you can never pull one, which means each push permanently removes options from the level. This is the mechanic that makes the later puzzles hard, and it is the reason a level can become unsolvable several moves before it becomes obviously unsolvable. Before you push anything, ask whether you will need to travel through the tile it is moving into. If the answer is maybe, do something else first.

Watch for tiles you can only enter once. Corridors one tile wide, pockets with a single opening and any space you enter by pushing a block behind you are all places that can trap the worm. The puzzle designer uses these deliberately. When you map your route backwards, mark which sections are one-way and make sure nothing you need is on the far side of one you have already used.

Restart early rather than late. Because mistakes here are silent — the level does not tell you it has become unsolvable — the cheapest move once you suspect you have gone wrong is to start the level again. Grinding on a broken board wastes far more time than a fresh attempt with the knowledge you just gained, and you will usually solve it on the second run in a fraction of the moves.

Read each new mechanic on the level that introduces it. New layouts arrive steadily, and the level that first shows you an obstacle is always the easiest one containing it. Take the extra thirty seconds to understand exactly how it behaves there — it will appear again in a much less forgiving arrangement, and you will not want to be learning the rule at that point.

Worm Path FAQ

Is Worm Path unblocked at school?

Yes. It runs in a plain browser tab with no download, plugin or account, so it works on school Chromebooks and lab machines wherever this site is reachable.

What are the controls?

The arrow keys or W A S D move the worm one tile at a time. Walking into a block pushes it, as long as the space beyond is clear.

Can I play it with the sound off?

Yes — it is a quiet logic puzzle and loses nothing at all played silent, which makes it a good classroom option.

Why can I not finish a level?

Almost always because a block was pushed into a tile you needed later. Pushes cannot be undone, so the fix is to restart the level and plan the route backwards from the exit.

Do I need to download anything?

No. Press Play and the game loads straight into the page.

Is it a two-player game?

No, Worm Path is single player. Our two-player page has the same-keyboard games.
