Hero Rescue Puzzle is a mouse-controlled rescue game with a simple promise: help the hero save the princess and get the treasure. The way you do it is by shooting the sticks that hold each scene together, and every stick you break changes what happens next on the screen.

Keep all three in mind when you look at a new level. A plan that grabs the treasure but leaves a goblin standing, or that clears the goblins but leaves the princess in trouble, is only part of a solution.

The sticks are the puzzle. Your only tool is the mouse, and your only action is shooting sticks. That makes every shot a decision. Before you click, ask what a particular stick is supporting or blocking and what will be different once it is gone. Look at the whole level first. It is tempting to shoot the stick nearest the hero straight away. Instead, scan the scene from top to bottom and side to side. Find the princess, the goblins and the treasure, then trace a path that connects them. Most levels become much clearer once you have found where each of the three goals sits.

Deal with the goblins on purpose. Killing goblins is one of the stated objectives, not a side effect. When you plan a sequence, decide which shot is meant to take care of them and make sure it comes at a point where it does not also put the hero or the princess at risk.

Use restarts as information. When a shot goes wrong, the result tells you something about how that stick affects the level. Use that on the next attempt and change your first shot rather than repeating the same sequence. Short levels make this kind of trial cheap, and that is how players work toward becoming the rich hero the game promises.
