About Football.io
Football.io takes the io formula somewhere unusual: instead of growing, you are eliminating. Four players share an arena and the goal is to be the last one in it, with the ball as the weapon rather than the objective.
Matches are quick and the elimination structure means the pressure rises as the field thins — a three-way scramble is chaos, but the final one-on-one is a genuine duel. You can steer with the mouse or the arrow keys, whichever your hands prefer.

That makes it a game about positioning and timing rather than technique — the players who do well are not executing anything difficult, they are simply arriving in useful places at useful moments while everyone else chases the ball.
Do not follow the crowd to the ball. The natural instinct in any io game is to go where the action is, which is exactly where you are least likely to achieve anything. Space is where you are effective. Hanging slightly away from the scrum and moving into the gap when the ball squirts loose is worth far more than being one of eight players all pressing the same point.
Approach with momentum, not from a standing start. Contact in a game like this favours whoever is already moving. Arriving at the ball with speed built up, rather than sitting on it and waiting, wins more exchanges and makes you far harder to push off. Circle, build speed, then commit.
Know when you are ahead and stop taking risks. In an arena full of other players there is always a temptation to go for one more, and that is usually how a good run ends. When you have something worth keeping, prioritise staying out of crowded areas over adding to it. Survival compounds in io games; aggression does not.
