Tennis Master is a tennis game in which you show your competitive talent and beat your opponents. You can play against the computer, or against a friend in 2 player mode, and matches include power-ups and funny transformations to collect.

Player 1's controls are short: the arrow keys move, X hits and Z smashes. The developer's listing only gives Player 1's keys and does not list the second player's controls, so check the game itself before a two-player match.

How to play

As Player 1, move with the arrow keys, press X to hit and Z to smash. Get into position for the ball, choose between a hit and a smash, and collect power-ups and funny transformations when you get the chance. Play against the computer, or switch to 2 player mode to face a friend; the developer does not list Player 2's keys.

Three inputs for Player 1. The developer lists the arrow keys to move, X to hit and Z to smash. That is all Player 1 needs. The listing does not include Player 2's keys, so if you are setting up a two-player match, find out what the second player uses before you start.

Computer or friend. You can play against the computer, or against a friend in 2 player mode. The computer is a handy way to get used to the timing of your shots; a friend is where the rivalry comes in.

Position first, swing second. In most tennis games, a shot played while you are still running to the ball is harder to control than one played from a settled position. Get to where the ball is going, then press X or Z.

Hit or smash. You have two shot keys. A sensible approach is to use X to keep the rally going and save Z for balls you are in a good position to attack, rather than smashing everything. Watch where each kind of shot tends to go and adjust.

Power-ups and transformations. The developer says you can collect power-ups and funny transformations. The listing does not describe what each one does, so pay attention when you pick one up and notice how the match changes. If collecting one would mean leaving the ball, think twice — an open court is an easy point for your opponent.

Cover the court. After each shot, move back towards the middle of your side. A player who stays where they last hit the ball can only reach part of the court, and a good opponent will aim for the rest.
