About Dodgeball 3D
Dodgeball 3D moves the sport into the water and builds several modes around it. You can play a straight dodgeball match, a wrestling mode where the goal is to hit your opponent as fast as you can and drop them, a soccer game where the first to score five wins, and a career mode for players who want progression rather than a one-off game. You can also customise your player.
The two-player layout is the reason it belongs on this shelf: one player on WASD with F to throw, the other on the arrow keys with K. Both sets sit far enough apart that two people can share a keyboard without elbowing each other, which is the whole test for a same-desk game.
How to play
Pick a mode, then move with your key set and press your throw key to launch the ball. In wrestling mode, hit your opponent as fast as you can to drop them; in the soccer game, score five before your opponent does. Player 1 uses WASD with F to throw, Player 2 uses the arrow keys with K.
Controls
- Player 1 — WASD to move, F to throw
- Player 2 — Arrow keys to move, K to throw
- Match, wrestling, soccer and career modes
Tips to win
- In wrestling mode, hit fast and repeatedly rather than winding up for one big shot.
- In the soccer game the target is five — keep count and do not relax after taking the lead.
- Keep moving between throws; a player standing still is the easiest target.
Dodgeball 3D strategy guide
Dodgeball 3D is really several games sharing one pool. You can play a match, wrestle in the water, play a soccer game or work through a career mode, and each one asks something slightly different of the same controls. Player 1 moves with WASD and throws with F; Player 2 moves with the arrow keys and throws with K.
In wrestling mode, speed of hits beats patience. The goal is to hit your opponent as fast as you can and drop them, so a steady stream of throws is worth more than waiting for a perfect shot. Stay close enough that your throws land, and keep pressing your throw key rather than pausing between attempts.
In the soccer game, the race to five decides everything. You need to score five before your opponent does, so an early lead matters, but it is also easy to relax after scoring. Keep count, stay focused after every goal, and treat each point as though the match were level until the fifth one goes in.
Movement is your defence in every mode. A player who stands still after throwing is the simplest target in the water. Move between throws, change direction often, and try to throw while your opponent is repositioning rather than when they are set and waiting. Watching which way the other player tends to move tells you where to aim next.
Use career mode and customisation to build a routine. Career mode is there for players who want progression rather than one-off matches, and you can customise your player along the way. It is also a good place to practise the timing of your throw key before a two-player session, where both players share one keyboard with their key sets on opposite sides.
