About Wormeat.io
Wormeat.io is the classic worm arena, played the classic way. If your head touches another player, you explode and the run is over. If another player runs into you, they explode instead — and everything they were carrying is left on the floor for you to eat.
That single rule is the whole game, and it makes Wormeat.io a game about cutting people off rather than chasing them. It joins Worms Zone, Wormo.io and our other io games as a mouse-only, silent, load-in-seconds option for a short break.
How to play
Steer with the mouse — your worm follows the cursor — and hold the space bar to speed up. Speeding up costs length, so use it for a purpose rather than constantly. You never want to run your head into anyone; you want to place your body across their path so they run into you, then turn around and eat what they leave behind.
Controls
- Mouse — steer
- Space bar — speed boost
Tips to win
- Cutting across a rival front is the only reliable kill; chasing from behind never works.
- Boost costs length — spend it to close a trap, not to travel.
- After any big explosion nearby, other worms are coming too. Eat the near side and leave.
Wormeat.io strategy guide
You cannot attack with your head. This is the rule that reverses everything a new player expects. Chasing another worm is not just ineffective in Wormeat.io, it is actively how you die, because the moment they turn their head into you the collision is resolved against you. Every kill you will ever get comes from putting your body where their head is going. Once that clicks, the game stops being a race and becomes a game of angles.
Cut across, never follow. The standard trap is to pull alongside a worm travelling in a straight line, get slightly ahead of it, and then turn across its path so it has nowhere to go. It works because worms cannot stop, only turn, and a tight enough cut leaves no turning room. The same move from behind achieves nothing at all — you will simply follow them until one of you finds someone else.
Boost is a closing tool. Holding space costs you length, which is your score, so treat it as a resource rather than a travel speed. The right time to spend it is when you are two thirds of the way through a cut and need to finish the line before your target turns. The wrong time is crossing empty map, which is just paying score for impatience.
Farm the aftermath, but not greedily. When a large worm explodes, the food it leaves is the fastest growth in the game — and every other player on that part of the map can see it too. Take the portion nearest to you, keep moving through rather than circling back, and leave before the crowd arrives. The pile is not worth dying for, and the players arriving late are usually longer than you.
Use the edges deliberately. A worm travelling near the boundary has fewer escape routes, which makes it a good target and a bad thing to be. Push rivals outward when you are setting a trap, and stay toward open space when you are the one with something to lose.
Wormeat.io FAQ
Is Wormeat.io unblocked at school?
Yes. It loads in a normal browser tab with no download, no plugin and no account, so it runs on school Chromebooks and lab machines wherever this site is reachable.
What are the controls?
Move the mouse to steer your worm and hold the space bar to speed up. Boosting costs length, so use it sparingly.
How do I kill another worm?
Never with your head — that kills you. Cut across their path so their head runs into your body, then turn back and eat what they drop.
Can I play with the sound off?
Yes, it plays fine silent, which makes it suitable for a classroom or library computer.
Do I need to download anything?
No. Press Play and it streams straight into the page.
Is it multiplayer?
Yes — it is an io arena shared with other players rather than a solo game.
