Skateboard City is an acrobatic skating game with a clean objective: collect all the stars on a course and the level is done. Simple enough — except each level gives you exactly one life, so a fall from a high section sends you back to the start with nothing to show for the run.

That single-life rule turns what looks like a casual kids' skate game into a careful one. You learn each drop, decide which stars are worth the risk, and treat the tricks as style rather than obligation. A freestyle mode is listed as coming later.

How to play

Press the right arrow to start skating, then steer with the arrow keys. Z and X perform tricks and the space bar jumps. Collect every star on the course to finish the level, and watch your footing on the higher sections — you get one life per level, and falling means starting that level over.

Skateboard City strategy guide

Getting rolling. Press the right arrow to start skating — nothing moves until you do, so remember it at the start of each level. After that, the arrow keys control the skater, Z and X perform tricks and the space bar jumps. On mobile, the controls appear on the screen and the game asks you to rotate your device.

The goal is stars. Skate until you have collected all the stars on the course; that completes the level. A level is finished only when every star has been collected.

One life per level. If you fall, you have to start the level over, because each level has only one life. That makes caution valuable. A star you can collect safely a little later is better than one you grab now at the cost of the whole run.

Respect the high points. The developer specifically warns you not to go down from the higher points when you surf on them. Those raised sections are where runs are most likely to end, so approach them at a speed you can control and do not rush.

Tricks have their place. Z and X perform tricks. The listing does not say that tricks are needed to collect stars, so focus on safe riding in the difficult parts of a course and save tricks for stretches where a mistake is less likely.

Learn each course. Since a fall sends you back to the start, every attempt shows you a little more of the level. Use failed runs to note where the stars are and where the dangerous drops sit, then plan a route that collects everything with as few risky moments as possible.
