About Volley Random
Volley Random is the volleyball entry in the same one-button ragdoll series as Soccer Random and Basket Random, and it keeps the trick that makes those two work: the match resets its own rules constantly. The court, the ball and the players can all change between points, so a rally you just won tells you almost nothing about the next one.
Volleyball suits the formula better than it has any right to. Because the ball spends so long in the air, the ragdoll flailing has time to look deliberate, and both players get a real moment to decide whether to jump now or wait — which is exactly the moment the game likes to punish.
How to play
One button each — Player 1 on W, Player 2 on the Up arrow, or play a single-player match against the CPU. Your button jumps and swings your ragdoll at the ball; the aim is to land it on the far side of the net. Points accumulate under whatever conditions the game has decided to hand you that round.

Tips to win
- Jump late rather than early — the ball hangs longer than it looks and most misses are early swings.

Volley Random strategy guide
One button each. Player 1 plays on W, Player 2 on the Up arrow, and you can play a single-player match against the CPU instead. Touch controls work on mobile and tablets. Your button jumps and swings your ragdoll at the ball; there is no direction to steer and no power to set, which is exactly what makes the series accessible to two people who have never played it before.
The rules change between points. The playing court, the ball and the players may all change from one round to the next, and the important thing is to be able to score under all conditions. A rally you just won tells you almost nothing about the next one. Treat each new variation as an unfamiliar game rather than assuming your last successful move still works.
Jump late. The ball hangs in the air longer than it looks, and the overwhelming majority of misses in this game are early swings. Because volleyball keeps the ball airborne for so long, you genuinely have time to wait — and the ragdoll physics mean an early jump leaves you falling back to the floor exactly when contact was available.
When the court shrinks, stop attacking. Some variations shorten the court dramatically, and on a short court power is a liability: hard returns go long and hand over free points. Just return the ball and let your opponent be the one who over-hits. Patience beats aggression on any variation that reduces the space you have to land in.
Spend one point scouting. When a new variation appears, watch the first serve before committing to a swing. Losing a single point to find out how the ball behaves is cheap insurance against losing three in a row to the same misunderstanding. How do you hit the ball in Volley Random?
Each side has one button: Player 1 presses W and Player 2 presses the Up arrow. Pressing it makes your ragdoll jump and swing at the ball, so timing the press is the whole skill.
Is every Volley Random match the same?
No. Thanks to the ragdoll physics and a range of variations, each match plays differently, with the court, the ball and the players all able to change.
