About T-REX N.Y Online
T-REX N.Y flips the monster movie around: you're not running from the giant robot dinosaur — you are the giant robot dinosaur. Stomp down Manhattan streets flattening cars, chomping obstacles and shrugging off everything the city throws back at you, with a destruction meter cheering you on.
It's gloriously uncomplicated stress relief. Bad day at school or work? Ten minutes of being a skyscraper-sized apex predator has a way of resetting the mood.
How to play
Move your robot T-Rex through the city with the arrow keys, and attack with Z and X. Work through the streets destroying what is in front of you, and keep moving rather than standing still in the middle of a crowd.
Controls
- Arrow keys — move
- Z — attack
- X — attack
Tips to win
- Chain destruction without pausing — combo momentum is where big scores live.
- Swat the small fast threats first; they chip you down while you pose.
- Wide streets are your friend: turning a giant T-Rex in an alley is nobody's best moment.
T-REX N.Y Online strategy guide
This is a demolition game, so forward progress is the objective. T-REX N.Y puts you in control of a huge robot dinosaur rampaging through New York, and the temptation is to stop and level everything in sight. Clearing an area completely is satisfying, but the game is built around moving through the city, and players who keep advancing see far more of it than players who grind every block to rubble.
Z and X are your two attacks, and alternating them is better than spamming one. Attacks in a game like this have their own timing, and holding down a single key leaves you locked into a repeated animation. Mixing your two attack keys keeps you acting more continuously and stops you standing there mid-swing while something hits you from the side.
Keep moving while you attack. The arrow keys and your attacks are independent, and the most common beginner mistake is planting yourself in one spot to fight. A T-Rex that is walking forward while attacking is a much harder target than one standing still, and the rampage flows better when you treat movement as constant and attacks as something you add to it.
Deal with what is closest. When several things demand your attention, the correct target is the nearest one — not the biggest, and not the one you find most annoying. Anything within reach of you is doing damage right now, and reducing the number of threats in contact is more valuable than picking off something at distance.
Retreat is a legitimate move. When you are surrounded and taking damage from several directions, backing out of the crowd and re-entering from one side is far better than trying to fight your way out through the middle. You lose a few seconds and turn a bad fight into a manageable one, which in a game about sustained destruction is a trade worth making every time.
