About Super Onion Boy
Super Onion Boy is a heartfelt retro platformer starring the roundest hero in the produce aisle: run and bounce through pixel levels, stomp and zap cartoon monsters, grab power-ups and push on to rescue your kidnapped friend. The level design is classic 16-bit school — secrets above the ceiling, coins that teach jumps, difficulty that ramps politely.
It's an original with genuine charm, and the tight controls make it a great "real platformer" break between arena shooters.
How to play
Move with the arrow keys, jump with Z and fire your magic zap with X. Stomp small enemies, zap the spiky ones, and explore up and left occasionally — the levels hide more than the golden path shows.
Controls
- Arrow keys — move
- Z — jump
- X — shoot
- P — pause
Tips to win
- Short-tap jumps for precision; hold only for max-height gaps.
- If an enemy looks stompable but spiky, zap first and confirm later.
- Coins arranged weirdly point at hidden blocks — jump under everything suspicious.
