About Fighter Legends Duo

Fighter Legends Duo is an arena fighter with a proper three-button moveset — punch, kick and a special — rather than the single-key duels that fill most two-player portals. It is set up as an all-star tournament of legendary fighters, with battles staged in temples, military areas, deserts, caves and more.

You pick a fighter, take your place in the arena and start fighting, either against a friend on the same keyboard or on your own. Because both players get the same three attacks, matches come down to choosing the right move at the right moment rather than mashing buttons.

How to play

Player 1 moves with WASD and attacks with F (punch), G (kick) and H (special). Player 2 moves with the arrow keys and attacks with K (punch), L (kick) and J (special). Pick a fighter, then work through the tournament against a friend or the computer.

Three attacks, used with intent. Fighter Legends Duo gives each fighter a punch, a kick and a special. Player 1 moves with W, A, S and D and attacks with F, G and H; Player 2 moves with the arrow keys and attacks with K, L and J. With only three attack buttons, the difference between players comes from when they press them, not from memorising long combos.

Spacing wins fights. Most lost rounds start with a fighter walking straight into range and swinging. Instead, move in and out of reach, wait for your opponent to commit, and punish the moment they miss. Pay attention to how far each attack actually reaches with your chosen fighter, and try to fight at the distance that suits you.

Treat the special as your big card. Throwing the special at the start of every exchange makes it easy to see coming. Save it for a moment when your opponent is close and busy with their own attack, so it lands when they cannot react. Mixing punches, kicks and the occasional special keeps the other player guessing about what comes next.

The tournament travels. Battles take place in temples, military areas, deserts, caves and other places, as part of an all-star tournament of legendary fighters. Pick a fighter that suits you and stick with them for a while; learning one character well is more useful than switching every match. The changing backdrops keep the tournament feeling fresh as you move through it.

Great with a friend on one keyboard. Because both players share the same computer, sit so your hands are comfortably apart, with Player 1 on W, A, S, D and F, G, H while Player 2 uses the arrows plus J, K and L. Play a best-of-five and swap sides halfway. On your own, the tournament lets you practise against other fighters before you challenge a friend.
