About Russian Taz Driving 2

Russian Taz Driving 2 is a 3D driving game built around Russian cars and big city streets. Instead of handing you a single vehicle, it offers lots of different Russian cars to drive and drift, and the setting is a city whose streets are crowded with dancing Russian gopniks.

The controls are simple: W A S D drives and steers, Space brakes and C changes the camera, so you can be on the road in seconds. From there the game is about driving and drifting through the city in whichever car you take out.

How to play

Drive and steer with W A S D, brake with Space and press C to change the camera. Take one of the Russian cars out onto the city streets and practise drifting through the corners, easing off where the street is crowded.

Pick a car and learn it. Russian Taz Driving 2 offers lots of different Russian cars to drive and drift. Rather than switching constantly, spend some time with one until you know how it turns, how quickly it slows when you brake and how it behaves when the back end starts to slide. Then take out another and compare the two.

Use Space as your main brake. The controls are W A S D to drive, Space to brake and C to change camera. Braking in a straight line before a corner and then turning in is the most reliable way through a city junction. Braking while already turning hard tends to unsettle a car, which is fine when you want a drift and a problem when you do not.

Drifting is about control, not full throttle. Drifting across the city streets is the heart of the game. A clean drift usually comes from turning in with some speed and then managing the slide with steering and throttle rather than holding the accelerator down. If the car spins, you gave it too much; if it straightens up, you gave it too little. Small corrections work better than big ones.

Read the street before you commit. The city streets are crowded with dancing Russian gopniks, so the road is not an empty track. Look ahead for open space before you start a slide, and ease off where the street is busy. A drift that runs out of room ends with you stopped and having to set it up again.

Choose a camera that suits you. Pressing C switches the camera view. Try each one on a quiet stretch of road rather than in the middle of a corner, and keep whichever lets you judge distances and see what is coming. A good view makes both braking points and drifts easier to time.
